Buffalo Bore’s 8B20 “Lever Gun Strictly Business” is a .45-70 Government hunting and target load built on a high-pressure performance philosophy while remaining externally compatible with SAAMI-spec .45-70 chambers. This cartridge uses a heavy 405-grain semi-jacketed flat point bullet intended for deep penetration and energy transfer in appropriate platforms. These rounds are supplied in 20-round boxes and 12-box cases for range and field use.
Because the load generates substantially higher pressures than standard commercial .45-70 ammunition, its use should be limited to strong, modern or purpose-built actions. It is intended only for firearms explicitly listed by the manufacturer as suitable for these pressures; it is not safe to assume compatibility with older or weaker .45-70 firearms.
Manufacturer guidance limits safe use to the following firearms and action types: all Marlin 1895 iterations made since 1972, all Browning 1885 and 1886 copies, Rossi Rio Grande, New England Arms Handi Rifle, T/C Encore, all falling-block actions made of modern steel such as Ruger #1 and #3, Shiloh, Christian and Persoli Sharps, all Winchester 1886 iterations made since 1915, and all Siamese Mauser bolt actions.
